My Students

Our three and four year old students are enthusiastic and ready to go every single day! They are curious and motivated to learn, participating in a formal school setting for the very first time. Our public school Pre-K Center is made up entirely of Pre-K students.

Every school year, we serve families and young children that are living in temporary housing.

Although our students are from communities that struggle with inadequate resources, they demonstrate an unparalleled determination and desire to learn. We will distribute packs of ready-to-use materials for learning outside of school as well as provide a sheet and blanket for rest time, to 18 three and four year old students experiencing homelessness.

My Project

Materials such as crayons, markers, pencils, paper, scissors and glue will allow 18 three and four year old learners to extend their learning when away from school. Just like their classmates, these children will have the means to draw a picture after returning home from school at the end of the day. These 18 little ones also need sheets and blankets for rest time, which may be seen as luxuries in the eyes of a struggling family. The reality is that these items are important for hygiene and comfort; every child should have what they need for a good rest in the middle of a busy day of learning.

Families living in transitional housing do not have the expendable income needed to purchase these items.
