Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I love that my students are so curious about all different topics. We often talk about current events, and social issues unrelated to curriculum. I think this is so interesting and important because as young people it is imperative that they understand and are aware of what is going on around them in their community. They have lots of opinions, are interested to learn more, and I hope that through this curiosity, they can discover a love for reading.

My Project

With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently both in class and at home. The magazines will allow them to explore and learn about current events in their community. I want to help their curious minds find a love of reading!

Many of my students do not have books at home, so this will help them to be able to rotate books with each other and take turns reading at home!

They will be so thankful!
