Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Tactile/Kinesthetic students learn best through a hands-on approach, actively exploring the physical world around them. They may find it hard to sit still for long periods and may become distracted by their need for activity and exploration.

My Kindergarten students are English Language Learners who are part of the Los Angeles Unified School District.

There are many students who enter Kindergarten without the advantage of attending pre-school. Many students are 4 years old when they start and tend to be more kinesthetic learners.

My Project

There are many students who enter Kindergarten without the advantage of attending pre-school. There are also instances where students enter school lacking developmental skills. These students need additional educational help through hands-on activities. I have requested art materials such as clay, beads and mosaic tiles to provide students hands-on activities to develop their motor skills.

Not only will students have an opportunity to learn with hands-on activities but also be exposed to Art.

Many times, we as educators, are focused solely on academics, we tend to neglect to expose students to art and physical education.
