My students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds with limited resources available.
We are a Title I funded, Performance Improvement school with a one hundred percent free lunch program. Many parents work two jobs and are struggling to support their families. Though their environments may not always be conducive to learning, they have an insatiable love of learning!
My Project
The pandemic has brought so many changes to the way I teach. We are following safety protocols and making adjustments wherever necessary.
We would like a dry erase kidney table so students don't have to share the dry erase boards we have.
The laminated table top has write-on/wipe-off functionality for taking notes, brainstorming and collaborating. I work with literacy and math groups of 4-6 daily and we use our dry erase boards all the time. With a dry erase table, we can just write on the table and erase! So easy and efficient.
They also work collaboratively and solve word problem with various math strategies that they share out. We don't have to go searching for the dry erase board and I can use a disinfecting wipe to clean it off. This is a safe way to keep the kids safe as we continue to learn!
