My Students

It's been quite a year for the kinders in my classroom this year - 2/3 of our year were online and then we went to 4 straight full days of all of us together in the classroom! It's been an adjustment for all of us, and they've handled it beautifully!

Our sweet students come from diverse backgrounds and bring a large array of experiences to our classrooms and school.

Our school is a Title I urban school with the most diverse population in our district. Over 66% of our students qualify to receive free or reduced-price lunch. School becomes a safe haven for these scholars - where expectations are the same every day and their basic needs are met. While they come to school to learn, they thrive when they are given the opportunity to utilize a variety of resources to make learning real and fun. We hope that we can provide these resources for them to access at home as well.

My Project

My wonderful students have spent much of their kindergarten year online at home. They've been able to move around as needed - get whatever they needed to be comfortable and successful learning online.

Now that we are back in the classroom, students are having to stay apart from one another - and sit at their desks for the majority of the day.

I would like to give them some tools to fidget with that are quiet and will help them to be able to get their wiggles out without too much of a distraction to others.
