My Students

My school is located in the southern sector of Dallas county. We service an exponential number of at-risk students (high retention rate, high absenteeism, discipline referrals, high dropout rate, teen pregnancy, and a large Special Education population). We strive to not only prepare students academically but socially and emotionally as well. We want them to be productive citizens no matter what course they take in life (college, trade school, military, or work-force). We recognize that we cannot reach these students in the traditional manner that we ourselves were accustomed to. We must be creative and innovative in our approach.

My Project

In this age of technology, we want to teach students that their voice matters, and we want to bring content to them that is created by them. We want to be there to guide their efforts and support them on a social platform that speaks to them. As they progress, they will be able to do team and independent reports to build collaboration and to be able to practice socialization. The students will use the ring lights for lighting, the chairs to sit on while they conduct interviews, and the backdrops to enhance the background. Plus in this technology-literate world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn and use the new technology!

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention, confidence, focus, and creativity, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement by knowing that they have a place in the school where their voice and opinion can be heard.
