Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I'm with a Special Needs, self-contained third grade. That's a mouthful and a handful. The children range from ADD, ADHD to Autistic, ED (Emotionally Disturbed) and Learning Disabled. Every day is a new beginning with these shining stars. They're amazingly curious and full of wonder. This world is a strange place and these little darlings are just beginning to find their place in it.

My Busy Bees are explorers, energetic, fun loving and even heady at times.

Some of them are on medication to control their impulsive behavior and outbursts. All of them hold the keys to my heart. I've got to reorganize and redirect their energy. It's difficult enough in the classroom; now, with this hybrid/ blended learning, style, they're struggling more than ever.

My Project

One of our new responsibilities monitoring our students temperature. With budget cuts announced I don't want to take chances on what they will come up with. I would rather put this particular task in the hands of someone or something reliable. While I have faith in the ability of the school nurse, I'd much rather not add to her work load and take their temperatures myself. In the spirit of social distancing , the less my babies travel the school, the safer they stay . I chose a reliable thermometer so that I leave no room for error. I'm not trying to perpetuate the spirit of fear and despair. I just want to keep them as safe as possible and not frighten them in the process. and I appreciate all the help I can get.
