My Project

It is no secret that my third grade students who live in the inner city, are forced to grow up much sooner than a typical suburban student. It’s no secret that these same students come from very unique family situations. Each and everyone has their own story to tell.

I would love to give my students the option to tell their story through imaginative play.

This year I purchased two dolls resembled several of my students. Recess became a time when several of my students would come together and pretend play with these dolls and show them love. It warmed my heart every time I witnessed it.

I want to add to their collection by adding for new dolls. I’d like that they are not gender specific. I love that their skin tones are all unique. I truly feel that by adding these toys to my classroom, students will enjoy exploring what makes each family unique.
