My Students

My students take every opportunity to learn and grow. They never back down from a challenge, so when I told them we were starting a yoga program, they were all in. Students have the opportunity to participate in a program that improves their bodies, as well as their minds.

Mindfulness is all the buzz right now, but we have taken the term and applied action.

Through yoga, meditation and thoughtful journaling, my students are able to cultivate habits that allow them to have less stress and anxiety in their daily lives.

My Project

"We don't use our body to get into a pose; we use the pose to get into our body."

Yoga is more than poses and balancing.

When teens take the time to get involved in a mindful activity like yoga, the results show up in every part of their lives not just on the mat.

These materials will be used by my students as well as future students that participate in the twice weekly Mindful Yoga Meet Up Program.

Having mats and blocks available to the students allows them to just show up and participate. This will ensure the students have an equal opportunity regardless of equipment needs.
