My Students

Gosh, I love my students. I love the journey we take from September to June together. I love getting them interested in dance and movement. I love seeing them progress and create art that they did not think they could ever do.

They are an incredible batch of humans who work hard, who try, and who impress me every day with their creativity, kindness, and desire to move.

My Project

As a K12 dance educator and a 200-hour certified yoga instructor, I have been incorporating yoga and mindfulness into my classes for the last few years. My students love the integration of movement, fitness, flexibility training, anatomy & kinesiology, as well as meditation. This year, virtual yoga sessions have been a bit hit with my students, and I am anticipating a strong desire for them to want to continue mindfulness practices as they transition back to in-person learning.

It was wonderful to see how my students used yoga & mindfulness to better themselves during the pandemic this last year.

By supplying my students with new yoga mats, yoga blocks, and foam rollers, they will be able to have a more holistic approach to understanding their bodies and minds as movers, athletes and humans this coming school year.
