This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are a diverse and resilient group who can thrive when they are given opportunities to explore creative and calming activities. Many face daily stressors that make focusing on academics challenging, and they benefit significantly from practices supporting their social-emotional learning (SEL).

This project will create a safe, welcoming space for our SEL yoga club by providing yoga mats and blocks.

The yoga mats, blocks, and other materials will allow students to fully engage in yoga poses, breathing techniques, and mindfulness exercises without barriers. Yoga not only strengthens their physical bodies but also teaches focus, emotional regulation, and resilience—skills that directly impact their ability to succeed academically and personally.

This project aims to help students cultivate mindfulness, manage stress, and build self-confidence. With access to these materials, they will learn lifelong tools to navigate challenges and improve their overall well-being.

What makes my students unique is their willingness to grow despite their obstacles. They are eager to embrace opportunities that nurture their minds and spirits, and this yoga club will empower them to do just that. Your support can make a lasting difference in their lives.
