Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work at a Title I school where a majority of students receive free or reduced-price lunch. The school consists of approximately 80% Hispanic. My class is very energetic and always ready to learn! They are the hardest working students who are so resilient!

My Project

The past 18 months have been extremely difficult for my students and it goes without saying that we all need something to restart our engines and get our minds back to pre-pandemic levels. Studies indicate Yoga helps boost confidence and to bring learning to children on an experiential level. It also teaches them perseverance, to be more patient, and to work towards their goals. It also provides tools for practicing generosity, strength and flexibility. My goal is to assign a mat to each student in my classroom so we can start integrating yoga activities in our daily curriculum.
