Help me give my students yoga mats, pillows and mindfulness tools that will be used to connect to their self awareness and create a safe and calm learning environment.
Thank you for considering this project! This coming school year, I am looking to incorporate a yoga and mindful practice within my fourth grade classroom. This practice is deeply rooted in connecting with ourselves to be able to connect with the world around us. Being in a calm, connected, and supported environment is key to helping students be their most successful self. There are many stresses that children bring into the daily classroom. Having tools and resources for students to access and use throughout their educational journey has become an important focus for me to improve students' social and emotional well being. These resources will be used to improve both the physical and mental health of my students. The yoga mats and cushions will give them a chance to close their eyes and focus on themselves.
Yoga and mindfulness is a practice that helps those that practice it to develop a deeper sense of self awareness.
Students need a better way to tap into their learning brain through a calm and connected mind. Having the ability to notice how we are feeling and thinking can directly impact our ability to be open to learning. Being more self aware also deepens our relationships and connections with others.
