My Students

We all know this year is weird. We are doing the absolute best we can with quality learning with either a hybrid model or a distance learning model. Because of this situation, I will be teaching Physical Education this year in addition to English Language Arts! In order to help my students develop coping strategies as well as encouraging an active lifestyle (while socially distancing), I would like my Physical Education class to teach yoga!

My students will learn poses and breathing to help them connect their brains and their bodies, which will help them to be better learners.

We will grow in practice together. We need your help providing us with yoga mats so my students can define their independent spaces and practice more comfortably.

My Project

My students will have their own place to safely and comfortably practice yoga in my PE class. They will be able to engage in a physical education while safely socially distancing. They will learn mindfulness strategies they can use now and take with them as they grow. As we practice together, students will prepare their minds for the learning that will happen elsewhere in the day.

Yoga will help my students deal with the stress of our COVID-era school day as well as the other stressors they are dealing with in their lives.
