Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The yoga mats, the blocks, and the straps will help students reach the physical, mental, and emotional potential they probably never imagined for themselves. The tools will help me introduce yoga to my students, considering that we are nowhere near a yoga studio in the Southeast section of The Bronx. I plan to encourage activity and movement for my students, since many of them are barely active in general.

I hope to help my students reduce stress and anxiety, develop their self-regulation, and monitor their emotions.

I also hope to help them develop confidence in themselves, and accept themselves fully and with love.

Ultimately, I want my students to be the ambassadors of peace at my school, where they are called on for student conflict resolution throughout the school.
