Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students come into my classroom eager to learn and grow with enriching experiences. My class is composed of students with a range of disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder and specific learning disabilities. They are primarily from immigrant families facing several language and socioeconomic challenges. Their challenges impact their access to an education.

Students have a limited exposure to culture and music that also is part of a balanced and meaningful education.

They look forward to a creative curriculum that will an enhance their learning.

My Project

My students struggle everyday with concentration and attention. In order to address their learning needs, I've focused a curriculum that allows them to focus and become mindful of their bodies. Yoga not only develop physical strength and flexibility but will develop my students' ability to concentrate which is essential for learning to begin.

The yoga mats are the crucial materials for this year-long class in order to teach focus to task skills.

The mats and portable speakers are the tools to allow the students to learn these skills of balance of mind and body. Yoga is a means of mental focus through physical skills.
