This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

With this yoga as an option during their recess, students will have the opportunity to engage in a calming and mindful practice that promotes self-regulation, focus, and overall well-being. This initiative will provide a structured yet flexible environment where they can learn and practice breathing techniques, gentle stretches, and mindfulness exercises.

By offering yoga as an optional recess activity:

Students who prefer a quieter, more reflective break will have a meaningful alternative to traditional recess activities.

They will develop self-awareness and emotional regulation skills that can support their learning and social interactions throughout the day.

It can help reduce stress and anxiety while promoting physical movement in a non-competitive way.

The inclusive nature of the practice ensures that all students, regardless of their physical abilities or experience, can participate and benefit.

I would make this activity optional for the four classes (fifth and sixth graders) that have the same scheduled recess.
