Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My high school students would benefit from a mindfulness and yoga club to promote healthy lifestyle practices. The club will improve their physical practice, enhance their mindfulness, and encourage a sense of fun and exploration in their meditation and yoga journey. Offering yoga courses at school will also give students the opportunity to become stronger, more flexible, and more self-aware, both physically and mentally. This practice can be calming and mindful breathing techniques can help them focus and build self-confidence. The club will also build a sense of connectedness, create community, and help students reduce tension and stress. Developing resilience to stress will help students with school, extracurricular commitments, and their personal relationships.

Offering yoga courses will allow students to improve their physical health and flexibility, improve their ability to regulate their emotions, and increase their sense of well-being.

The following equipment, yoga mats, blocks & cushions, and straps, are needed to ensure a successful club. Yoga mats will provide a safe, non-slip surface for movement and poses, while yoga blocks and cushions will help students modify poses and improve alignment. Yoga straps will provide support and help students deepen their stretches, promoting flexibility and proper alignment. Thank you for supporting my students' growth.
