I teach music to over 400 4th and 5th grade students in a rural school district. There is no art teacher or art curriculum in the school.

The district says there is no money to hire an art teacher but our state has mandated the teaching of an art curriculum. There is also a fine arts test at the end of the school year that includes both music and art. In the last three years, less than 5% of our students have passed this test. There is no school wide art curriculum. The teachers do what they can, but it's not enough for the students to be successful in art.

The CD-Roms and books will help develop an art curriculum for our school and help the students achieve more in the area of visual art. It will give the classroom teachers more resources and ideas for teaching art.

By donating these supplies and materials to my school you will help make it possible for my students to be better educated on visual arts and hopefully improve their test scores.
