My Students

My students currently sit in a 2nd and 3rd grade Self-Contained classroom located in South Jamaica, NY. My 6 wonderful students have a variety of different abilities, personalities, and interests! They all do have one thing is common though, their love for reading!

They are energetic and unique students, who love reading books which interest them.

They love to learn and grow.

My students are determined to achieve their goals as learners, but they need your help to do so!

My Project

Expanding our classroom library will benefit my students in ways you can't imagine! The past year and a half these students have learned how to read and became stronger readers, but they had to do it on a computer screen. Now that my students are completely back to learning in person, they are able to read a physical book again. They are able to pick it up, feel it, cozy up and read it! Sadly, we face a problem. Right now we only have a few books to fill our bins; however, we want them to be overflowing with a greater selection for students. Having a large, high-interest library will motivate students to read, baby read! Students will be able to use these books in the classroom during independent reading time. Additionally, they will be able to take them home as part of their book-baggies!

Please help provide my students will texts they will not only enjoy, but will meet them at their reading level and help them meet their reading goals!
