My Project

These materials will create an environment for my students that I strive to have for them. My area of learning is one in which my students already enjoy coming to, so I want to enhance their comfortability by making them feel as though they're in their second home, increasing their yearning for learning.

Being a Title I school and working with a multitude of students, some being from migrant families, this project means more to me and them than I think is even able to put into words.

My students are noticeably more engaged when they feel soothed by their surroundings and that has to come before instruction.

Having something as simple as a bookshelf will allow me to display their reading books for engagement, along with their binders, where their amazing work will be housed. Having a binding machine will allow me to create their very own workbooks, where everything will be cohesively contained as a booklet, designated specially for each student.

With a pocket chart, our calendar will clearly be displayed and students will have the opportunity to manipulate our special days and it will be part of our daily learning.

I want to be their safe space, and these materials will help create that for them!
