My Students

The students in my classroom come from a variety of backgrounds which makes teaching them not only a challenge but an adventure as well. My goal as a classroom teacher is to help as many students as we can come out of poverty to provide better lives for themselves. If I can grab their curiosity and encourage them to be lifelong learners, then they will be well on their way to changing their circumstances.

Our school is the largest elementary school in our district with almost 800 students in grades pre-kindergarten through fifth grade.

Many of the students at our school come from poverty stricken homes, and sometimes the best part of their day is being with us in a comfortable learning environment.

My Project

My students want to succeed in their educational endeavors. They are excited about learning and come to school with all their hopes and dreams. Unfortunately due to the low socio-economic area in which they live, they do not always have the funds to bring the necessary school supplies to help them on these endeavors.

It would be a dream come true for many of my students to begin the new school year with the necessary school supplies to succeed.

By having pencils, erasers, scissors, glue sticks, colored pencils, and a pencil pouch to house these supplies, my students could focus on their work instead of worrying about not having what they need to complete it. These basic school supplies are vital to their learning and your donations will help you to build my students' confidence as they grow into life-long learners.
