My Project

This year I decided to ask for outside help to add things to my classroom to make it more welcoming, safe, secure, and comfortable for my students as well as myself. Since I am not a new teacher, I already have a lot of things set up that work in my room, however I did need to move to a new classroom this year and there are some adjustments I need to make and a few things that I would like to add.

I would love to support the welcoming feel in the room with different lighting and decor, snacks as needed, and continuing some fun traditions that I started last year.

I am looking to have more games to play with students as well as tools to help them learn to read a traditional clock. I would like to continue having food and snacks on hand for when students (current and former) come to me when they are hungry.

I would like to cover the fluorescent lighting in my room with the light diffusing covers and I would love to be able to pull curtains across the window to create a darker room when it is needed as well as for safety at times.

Last year I started Hot Chocolate lunches where students would come in small groups with their school lunch and I would serve them hot chocolate. I still have a ton of hot chocolate but I am running low on the cups and spoons.

And I would like to organize the room with labels, laminated sheets, and being able to secure items in cupboards on days that I am out.
