My Students

I teach Knitting at a high school in Los Angeles. My students come from all over the city, from over 100 zip codes! Knitting is a Technical Art and the students earn credit towards a graduation requirement when they complete the course. We also donate all completed projects to local hospitals, so the students earn community service for their work.

My Project

This yarn will give my students the chance to knit some fantastic sweaters! We donate all baby sweaters to local hospitals so that each baby has a handmade item to take home with them from the hospital. My students earn community service and learn how to knit along the way. Right now, students are at home and have loads of time to tackle their knitting projects. This yarn will give them materials to make a new batch of baby sweaters that we will donate as soon as they can go into the hospital to do so.
