My Project

My Individual Sports PE class is all about learning skills, games, and activities to keep students physically active for a lifetime. This is my first full year at my school site and I want to bring the yard game unit into the year 2023. I am excited to introduce new and fun games to the students so they have a never-ending arsenal when it comes to ways to be healthy and have fun! Games like Jenga, Cornhole, Kan Jam, Kan Jam Pickleball, and Slammo will engage my students in a way that I am sure that our outdated equipment like ladder toss can't. I have asked for several sets of each as the class is 30-40 students in each section and I have 5 sections.

I want my students to remain socially active even after high school.

I want my students to be excited about trying new games, about learning with and from each other. I want them to be comfortable joining any game they see going on. In other words, I want to help my students be social, happy, and comfortable in our ever changing world. This unit will help those who are shy, nervous, or "unskilled" to feel like it's okay to take risks, make friends, and have fun. Moreover, it's fun to be physically active!
