This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students have multiple disabilities but that doesn't stop their abilities to learn. They learn differently so it's up to us to teach them differently. They come to school ready to learn new things and they always aim to please. I consider my students special not special needs. They are work hard.
My students benefit from learning skills that will help them in the world outside of school.
My students love to learn and I love teaching them. Although they have challenges they are always willing to learn. They never give up. Our class motto is "YES WE CAN!". When one of them tries to give up the others give encouragement. They'll say, "You can do it." or "Keep trying and don't give up". We believe in teamwork because together we can make a difference.
My Project
My students need to practice communication skills. I have come up with a plan that will help them overcome some of their needs. My students will be news reporters. They will use the camcorder to report events that are happening around the school and they will also have a chance to interview students and staff members. Through this fun activity my students will improve on communications skills. They will have to use their voices or use gestures to report on the news. This will be a great way to target their communication goals in a fun way. They will improve on communicating while also voicing their opinions.
This donation will change my students' lives because if they can communicate then they won't be frustrated when they are learning and socializing.
This is an important goal for my students so that they can work and live in the community independently.
