My Students

I have had the pleasure of starting my teaching career in this school four years ago. I know my students very well and love the diverse population. Our school goes from Pre-K up to 8th grade. It is nice to see such strong bonds the students form with peers and teachers throughout their years at our school.

We are a tight-knit school community and that makes both teaching and learning a fantastic experience in this building.

The most amazing part about teaching is the eagerness you see in children when they are about to uncover or discover new information.

My Project

These new and classic young adult novels will update my classroom library and invite students who normally do not read to choose a book. It is very hard for students to improve their reading, and even writing skills, if they are not enjoying the books they choose.

I collaborated with my students to create a list of novels they are interested in reading but do not have access to.

Each year, it is my goal to instill a love of reading and writing into each and every student. Each title on this list was requested and will be read by multiple students throughout the year.
