This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I want my students to write daily in a structured workshop this year. To do this, they need composition books and writing tools. High school students need as much as possible writing for academic purposes and prose to prepare for the real world. As a Teacher of English, I plan to use the Writing Workshop model, which requires daily writing practice. These journals would remain in the classroom to ensure that students can access them daily.
My learners are considered "at-risk" based on demographics.
Every day they come to school should be a day of academic progress. Research shows that the Writing Workshop helps students become confident and capable writers.
