My Project

This project has been put together to gather notebooks and books to help students increase their reading and writing skills in math. We want to incorporate books in math and get our students to write about what they are doing in math.

 Improving student writing can dramatically improve their reading skills.

This is because they practice their phonics skills as they spell words. They also practice creating sentences with correct structure. With this project, we want to give our students notebooks for reading, writing, and math. We would like them to practice writing and reflecting in math.

Our students do a wonderful job reading but struggle and get intimidated by math word problems. We want to teach math similarly to how we teach reading to take away their intimidation.
