Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our science lab is a place of challenge and discovery. Students will spend this year learning the foundation of knowledge and skills they will need as they pursue their education.

The students that I have a privilege of teaching range from Kindergarten - 5th graders in an urban, inner city elementary school.

They are excited to explore the world of science, to perform experiments, and to expand their capacity for critical thinking. They take pride in their efforts and are willing to challenge their minds for the sake of learning.

Our student population is 99% minority and over 90% qualify for free or reduced price lunch. With that being said, I believe that they deserve the BEST education and every opportunity to be successful in fulfilling their dreams.

My Project

The use of whiteboards allows my students to show me what they know by sharing their work. What becomes a problem is the fact that the markers never seem to last, erasers seem to disappear, and the whiteboards slowly become stained from frequent use.

So, by having LCD tablets, students will be able to avoid all of these problems and focus on increasing their learning!

They will be able to share their knowledge without using paper or worry about dried out markers.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether their materials are going to work or not. Plus in this technology literate world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn and use the new technology!
