This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a Pre-K through second grade elementary school.

Our school is located in one of the poorest congressional districts in the nation.

Many of my students have special needs, are repeating a grade or are struggling academically to achieve grade-level expectations. Many of my students are from single-parent homes and reside in nearby public housing. The need essential resources to maximize learning opportunities to ensure they do their best work every day.

My Project

My students enjoy writing. They conduct research and gather information to put in their research reports. For example, while learning about frogs, they conducted online research and found beautiful images online that they wanted to print out in COLOR to include in their reports. The toner cartridges would enable my students to read each other's report and SEE, the images they grabbed online, highlighting the various stages in the life cycle of a frog.

We have access to a both a color and black printer, but there isn't any money in the budget to replace the cartridges.

With your help, my students will have two toner cartridges, black and color to type and print out their work. No doubt, the ink cartridges will help their work to POP and support my visual learners.
