Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

It is my philosophy that every child can learn and it is up to the teacher to guide them on this journey to success!

My students are a dynamic and energetic group of middle school children who cannot get enough of reading, writing and creating projects.

My students' socioeconomic status ranges from low to high socioeconomic; some of them do not have access to technology and basic school supplies at home such as pens, paper, and pencils. All of my students participate in the International Baccalaureate program at school.

The classroom supplies requested will help our students create and implement a Creative Writing Club for all to join. This club will help students excel, polish their writing and reading skills and build their confidence to help them succeed beyond the classroom.

It is my goal to guide my students and watch them grow to their full potential!

My Project

My creative writing club is a fun and safe place where students can express their ideas, thoughts and dreams all in one place! Students can then choose to either share with the club, the school or publish their piece of writing. It is my goal to guide my students and watch them grow to their full potential!

Having the necessary supplies, such as Binders, pens, paper and USB Drives, readily available for my students to implement and use immediately will have a positive impact on their grades, attendance, and attitude. One of the club goals is for students to build a writer's portfolio using the Binders , paper and pens. Once their "drafts" are written, revised and edited, students will then type their pieces and place into their Writer's Portfolio to showcase their work. This will help students understand and appreciate that school has meaning and a clear purpose. Moreover, students will have a safe and nurturing environment to write and express their ideas and views free from bias or prejudices with the necessary materials and tools to succeed at their disposal.

Lastly, students will learn to take ownership of their learning while having their voice's heard.
