Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are ones who define the word resiliency. They live in low socioeconomic communities, which results in limited access to resources. However, this does not have a negative effect on their abilities intellectually, socially, or inter-personally.

We take all of the bad and turn it into good.

The challenges my students face on a daily basis give them a unique view of the world. We overcome these challenges together, at least for the moment, through our classroom's ability to work as one community.

My Project

A big mission for our 5th graders is to become skilled writers. In order to do so they need the best writing tools! The mechanical pencils with lead, pencil dispenser, and erasers will help them practice and focus on their writing. As well, we will use the whiteboards and clipboards to keep working and writing around the classroom without having to be tied to our desks or traditional paper! Lastly, the colored pencils will help transition students from crayons to colored pencils in order for them to work with smaller details as they are perfecting their fine motor skills. We will have an exciting new school year, ready to take on middle school with our perfect handwriting!
