My Project

This past school year, our district's English Department all read a book, 180 Days Two Teachers and the Quest to Engage and Empower Adolescents, that made us rethink the way we taught reading and writing in our room. We used strategies to give students their own writing notebooks and noticed that students were more engaged in the writing process and expressing their thoughts when they were physically writing those thoughts on paper.

Due to this, we are hoping to provide writing notebooks and pencils for all of our students for the remainder of this school year and next.

Your donations would allow students the opportunity to express themselves and learn that the expression of ideas through writing is indeed a process, and that writing is a tool for learning instead of just a task to be completed.
