My Project

I teach some awesome third graders in Idaho. In third grade, students move from writing sentences to full paragraphs and eventually to a paper with 3-4 paragraphs. We need to spend a lot of time practicing writing. I offer my students multiple opportunities to practice a variety of genres.

Each day students write in a journal with a prompt I give them.

I want them to be able to have their very own small notebook to write their daily entries. For this journal writing, I want them to be able to choose from a number of different writing tools. A special pen in third grade is a very exciting thing!

Aside from journal writing, I would like students to have a separate notebook to write down their thoughts and ideas for our narrative assignments. I would like them to have a place to brainstorm ideas for our informational reports. I have seen students thrive in writing when they have the resources and tools that are special and just theirs!

This project would fill the need for these supplies for my students to succeed in writing!
