Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 40, yes I said 40, students are hard working, curious, go-getters who are inspired to change the world. Through our new curriculum, they've been exposed to issues about human rights, threats to those rights, and how we can use our voice to help others. While our classroom materials may introduce ways the rights of others are being harmed, it doesn't show them how to be the change the world is in dire need of. I want to expose them to project based learning ideas and give them a way to work at their desks on said ideas.

Project based learning is where my students will learn just how powerful and important their voice is and will become.

I can't just tell them this, I need to be able to show them just how amazing solutions and ideas come together with teamwork and collaboration. A project based learning kit and marker board table tops will help me utilize the limited space I have, while driving my students to find solutions to the world's major issues. We are a Title 1 school in a low-income area, serving students from hard working and dedicated families.

My Project

My students need more space, and a dual purpose seating plan is the best way to help alleviate this issue.Having used the remaining desks I had for centers for actual students, we're lacking a centers spot for them to work in groups on differentiated learning.

These markerboard table tops will give my students the desks they need along with whiteboards to help them while they're working on various subjects, along with the project based learning kits.

These tables have the ability to turn their workspace into their creative office space where they can collaborate on how to solve real world problems.
