My Students

I teach at a Title I School in East Texas. We are a small community school and we are limited on materials. However, our school serves a free breakfast every morning to ensure that all students receive the nutrition they need to start the day.

I want my students to have all the materials they need to better their education.

I am a 2nd-grade teacher. My classroom consists of a wide variety of diverse students that come from small towns. They are a bright group of kids who are eager to learn and I want them to be able to walk into my classroom and feel excited about what is in store for them that day. Because they are from a small town, they feel the need to challenge themselves to the max to show their full potential. This is something we encourage at BES because we know that our students are capable of accomplishing anything they set their minds too.

My Project

Learning how to write is essential for my second graders. This year we have started a new writing curriculum that involves writers workshop. With the new desk caddies, all the materials and supplies we need will be easily accessible to my students. One of the materials needed are staplers. This will allow my students to create their own books when writing.

By donating to this project, you will be giving us a jump start on a great year of writing!

One way to keep my students responsible for their writing is by having their own writing folder. These folders will help keep their writing organized and in a safe place. With the clear sleeves, their folders will hold sight word lists and their alphabet chart.
