My Project

I received professional development in writing instruction last year, and I am ready to implement all I've learned in my classroom this year. I know the steps to help students grow from beginner to awesome, and I have the supplies I need to present instruction that will guide them through the process.

Now I need your help providing my students with the tools that will help them achieve that difficult goal of becoming successful writers.

I am requesting lined paper to get them started, and 'fancy' pens that they'll use specifically for writing tasks. For editing, I have requested highlighters in specific colors to help them begin to identify certain skills (for example, topic sentences) in mentor texts and then within their own works.

Finally, I have requested writing process folders where students can identify the steps of writing, save their personal work in the section that matches, and review steps that will help them continue their writing with confidence (there is a part of the folder that identifies commonly misspelled words!).

I can't wait to see what incredible work my students will be able to achieve once they have the tools to support them in doing their best!
