My Project

I teach an incredible group of second graders who are curious, creative, and eager to learn every single day. Many of my students thrive on hands-on, interactive activities, and they shine when given the opportunity to actively participate in lessons. However, as a new teacher, my classroom is still growing, and I need the right tools to meet their energy and learning needs.

The resources I’m requesting—a set of double-sided dry-erase boards, markers, and erasers for each student—will transform how we engage with our lessons.

Whether we’re solving math problems, brainstorming during writing, or practicing phonics skills, these reusable boards allow my students to participate in real-time, collaborate with peers, and receive immediate feedback. They also reduce the need for paper, making them an eco-friendly option that encourages creativity and saves resources. I also request that throw pillows and covers be included in our calm corner, which students can use when they need a break from group work.

My goal with this project is to create a classroom environment where students feel empowered to participate and take risks in their learning without fear of mistakes. With these tools, they can erase and try again, fostering a growth mindset while building confidence.

What makes my students truly special is their resilience and determination. Many come from low-income families and face challenges beyond the classroom, but they show up every day ready to explore, ask questions, and give their best effort. Your support will give them the tools they need to thrive and succeed.
