Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a hard-working group. They always come in ready to learn and to conquer the day. We are a Title I school with many English language learners, and many of our students come from low-income families. One hundred percent of my class receives free or reduced-price lunch pricing.

We are a neighborhood school, so all of my students live in walking distance to school.

They are a tight-knit community that support and encourage one another. Our school enrollment is just under 700 students. Our distinguished practice is Health and Fitness, although we also emphasize music and technology. My goal is to create well-rounded, 21st century learners.

My Project

Quality pencil sharpeners, pencils, and erasers will help us be prepared to work hard all year long. Students need these basic materials for everyday work and testing. While student supplies are plentiful during the first month of school, my students go through pencils pretty quickly.

While we do live and learn in the digital age, showing math work, taking notes, and handwriting assignments is still necessary.

Every day our pencil sharpener is overworked and we are in need of a new one to keep up on point with our school work. We love to keep our skills and our pencils sharp! Working and learning is messy and we often encounter mistakes. Erasers will help us make the corrections we need to move forward towards success.
