My Students

My students are 21st Century learners who are eager to use all of the technology available to them! I teach 24 curious, natural born third grade scientists in a small Title 1 school that has an amazing and supportive principal.

My students are eager to learn and their brains are sponges that absorb any and all information given to them.

Everything is a potential investigation/experiment to them so I strive to provide my students with as many learning and project-based opportunities as possible. I constantly enhance the school curriculum and students' intrinsic motivation to learn more by infusing STEM correlations whenever possible. Because of our size, funding levels are not as high as other schools in our area so grants become an integral part of how I obtain materials to supplement learning experiences. Our school has made a commitment to increase technology into our classrooms but can only provide what budget numbers allow.

My Project

Writers Workshop is an integral part of our classroom. It is one of the best times of the day because my students exercise their creative juices! The writing folders requested will help my students keep track of their work and each stage of writing they are in. We use colored pencils to identity paragraphs. The pencil cases will house them so my students have them when they need them.

The materials requested will help my students stay organized and focused.

Having these resources will encourage my students to be more productive while reinforcing the stages of the writing process along the way!
