Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a teacher, I find that my students have a difficult time purchasing and maintaining pencils and other writing utensils throughout the year. Besides the pencils, we use a variety of implements to assist us in our learning.

My classroom is filled with anchor charts.

An anchor chart is a tool to facilitate student self-regulation and support independence.

The students and I collectively design these charts as reminders and tools for solving math concepts. The steps are color coded, and highlighted to help the students identify each step easily from their seats.

In their notebooks, they take notes, and highlight vital terms associated with each lesson or activity, and during some lessons, the use of color pencils and markers are required to design images or complete color by number activities.
