My Students

This year, I will be teaching in a third grade classroom of diverse students. We are a large urban school that celebrates inclusion, diversity, and twenty-first century learning skills. Our school facilitates a wide range of students who predominantly come from low-income/high poverty households.

As their teacher, my goal is make our classroom a safe, comfortable, and engaging learning space.

I believe writing kits would allow me to facilitate and accommodate each of my students unique learning style. In the writing kits I would like to include whiteboards, dry-erase markers, pencils, journals and stickers. These materials will be to send my students as an introduction to our writing lessons for the remainder of the school year. My goal is to spark a love of writing in a comfortable and safe learning environment.

My Project

The use of whiteboards is a daily activity in my classroom, especially for writing. Using the workshop model in writing, students can complete the guided practice activities with their teacher using the whiteboards during virtual learning. The whiteboards allow me to see exactly what the students are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. Giving students flexibility with writing by using whiteboards and markers and paper and pencil the students can enjoy writing by using tools that will help writing application. By having these writing materials that can be used more than once, students will be able to avoid any obstacles with finding writing materials and focus on their learning!
