My Project

My students choose to study anatomy for many reasons, from wanting to jump-start a health career to simple curiosity about how their body works. To learn anatomy and physiology you must learn each of the organs, its function, and its relation to the other organs and how they work together. A picture is sometimes not enough.

In a classroom of very diverse learners, these anatomical models will bring the systems to life, allowing students to visualize each organ and its relation to the other organs in the body.

They will specifically help those learners that need more than just words and pictures on paper, those that need to see and manipulate what they are learning about. But EVERY learner will benefit. These models will give every student an extra tool for learning the new information, assimilating what they know, and quizzing themselves and each other. I can also use these models to assess their mastery of the material.

These anatomical models will offer something I can't currently give them- the ability to close their eyes and SEE in 3D what I am talking about. Once they have explored and manipulated these models, they will forever have that foundation. They can take that with them to college, medical school, nursing school, or just into the world, understanding their own bodies.
