My Students

Bright colored murals, beautiful garbs, fresh fruits and vegetables at the corner market and the smell of delicious Indian food coming from the nearby kitchen. This is the environment my students live in. Parkchester is a beautiful neighborhood that embodies the Indian culture. Unfortunately, my school is in a low-income neighborhood. Many of my students, a diverse mix of cultures too, attend a school that strives to give these eager students who are ready to learn an excellent education. Many of them are first-generation Americans and are excited to begin school!

My Project

Every child is eager and excited for the new school year. They wonder what their teacher is going to be like, who's in their class and most of all what their new classroom is going to look like.

A colorful, organized and inviting classroom sets the tone for students to have a successful school year.

When entering their new room seeing colorful borders and name tags on their desk and door is so exciting! Or how about their very own mailbox where they have their number and they can easily find their mail/homework or put their work in. Positive posters are reassuring that this will be a great school year as they look around the classroom. A lesson plan book can help me start to plan lessons and be be ready! Markers and chart paper can help me be ready to make my fabulous charts! No first day jitters here especially when we have a classroom that's warm and inviting! Can you imagine their smiles when they walk into my classroom the very first day!? Thanks for your help!
