Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Nowadays, kids are all about technology. Interactive things around them, motivate them to investigate and explore more. Do you remember how difficult it was back in the days writing on a blackboard? It was not only difficult for the teacher, but also not attractive for the students at all.

My students come from other countries all over the world.

The different languages are: Bengali, Spanish, Uzbek, Russian, Polish, Tibetan, etc. These students come with very little or no English at all. Writing on a blackboard does not help these students at all. However, using a dry erase board makes the work look eye catching and easy for the students to understand the key words. My school is honored to accommodate students that come from very poor families, but that have an unbelievable desire to learn and explore the "new world" around them. I love teaching my students. I am lucky enough to work with them every day and offer them my knowledge and open the horizon for them.

My Project

My students will use the dry erase board to write work and do presentations for the rest of the class. As a teacher, I will use the dry erase board to explain the work identifying key words. I have tried very hard explaining the work from the blackboard, but it has been very challenging because I cannot use color coding as I would use with the large dry erase board I have requested. It would help my students remember key words as well as make my life easier as I struggle a lot when my students cannot understand what is on the blackboard. The use of dry erase board will benefit my students in every way possible. Please help my students.

The use of a dry erase board will be more interactive than a blackboard.

Remember how ugly and not interactive is a blackboard comparing to a dry erase board? I can use different colors to make the work interactive, and erase the board very easily without getting all the dust on my students' faces or mine. It is not healthy to get chalk on the face, as well as it is not interactive to show the work.
