Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students I teach are all under-served, inner city, minority students of many backgrounds. While, most are of Hispanic descent, we serve a small population of Muslim or Middle Eastern, African American, Asian, & Anglo. While our students come from distressed socioeconomic and impoverished areas, they have never let this be a barrier for success. Many of our students have met standards, attained high gains and excelled at levels not expected by this population. My students are a joy to teach!

My Project

Having Google Chromebooks will allow my students to travel the globe in letters, words, poetry, in fiction and non-fiction. Many of my students have yet to set foot outside of their neighborhood, city or even the state. I recall my own experiences growing up in poverty, never even leaving my household, but always looking up to the stars dreaming of a far away land.

I know my students will explore far away lands not just looking up at the stars, but seeing it on a Chromebook or tablet, seeing the world in living color & real time.
