This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Would you like to do more worksheets when you are done with your workbook? or Would you like to play a game with your classmates on your own? Did I mention that you can practice and reinforce your math and reading skills and have fun at the same time? That's what I would like to tell my students.

I have a diverse group of students with varied learning needs.

Some of my students are English Learners; therefore, they need additional help to learn and practice essential reading skills. Some others know how to read the basic sight words, but don't know how to spell the words correctly, yet some others need the extra help in different math skills. How can a teacher teach and meet the needs of all students at the same time? Through the work of small groups where those students in need of essential or specific skills are addressed while the rest of the class is working on their own.

My Project

My students need the Math and Language Arts centers so that they can practice along with their classmates skills that they need to reinforce. The different skills that my students will practice will allow them to be in charge of their own learning while I will be working with a group of students with similar needs. My students will practice their math skills in addition, subtraction, money, and counting by tens using the different manipulative math centers. My at risk students who are in need of essential early reading skills will benefit by practicing their phonemic awareness and phonics skills using the different fill-in the blank and stamps sets. The Word Family game will be used by students to practice different letter and vowel sounds patterns. The students will use the alphabet tracing stamps among other things to write the sight words they need to learn to read and spell. Bingo Anyone? We all will enjoy the bingo games and learn together as a class in a fun way

Our project is important because it will allow all my students to work together in small groups and learn independently math and reading skills that are the foundation for early educational success.

All of these while others are working with the myself to address their own individual skills and needs. Please support our project so that we can practice and learn in a fun way through the use of the different manipulatives.
