Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students consist of inner-city children who come from low-income families, and some are even homeless. As a teacher in an urban district, I work with four and five-year-old students ranging in levels of development. I have several students with special needs (IEPs) who are currently mainstreamed into my general education classroom. We have a classroom aide to help with classroom tasks.

My student population consists of inner-city children mainly coming from low-income​ families.

We are a dual-language school where students learn English and Spanish. We are proud to be a national school of character!

My Project

We have a Sizzix die cut machine and need die cut shapes. These shapes will help our students in so many ways! First, students can use them during lessons such as 'A Snowy Day' or 'The Gingerbread Man' read aloud stories by cutting out shapes related to the story and using them in their story retell projects. Or perhaps when we learn the life cycle of a butterfly by utilizing a variety of related shapes where students can place the shapes in the order of the life cycle. They make excellent visuals for young learners. Additionally, these shapes are wonderful tools for tracing. Lastly, this collection of shapes will be a great addition to our classroom as we can use them to decorate our bulletin boards monthly as many correspond to lessons we conduct daily. Your donations are very much appreciated!
