My Students

My students are talented and motivated artists who work hard to combine their love of the arts with their academic studies. We are an arts school in NYC where students from diverse backgrounds are united in their dedication to artistic and academic excellence. Approximately three fourths of my students are female.

Through hands-on exploration my artistic students will see the science that shapes the world around us.

Understanding the science of climate change, disease, and human health will empower my students to positively shape the world around them. Science, technology, and policy shape the future. Gaining scientific knowledge will give power to my students' voices as they make choices that will impact our futures.

My Project

Access to the BitPaper.io platform will allow me to make lessons for my students to demonstrate their learning in a fun and interactive way. BitPaper will allow me to make students activities that will allow them to work both individually or in groups to complete learning exercises. In a trial run of the platform my chemistry students worked together to make a Venn diagram comparing acids and bases while my biology students worked to classify examples of organism relationships and create food chains and food webs. If we had continued access to BitPaper.io students can work with me to demonstrate how they can apply discussion topics to making diagrams and collaborating ideas with their peers. BitPaper.io will give students an opportunity to connect with peers and their teacher as they contextualize science topics.
